You said it all so much better than I did, Maeghan. Most people don't understand that the vast majority of these issues that they find to be so important on a Federal level really should be in the hands of the states. The Federal government has no business governing every little minute detail...I have heard, as an opposing viewpoint, that the Fed. gov't NEEDS to do this because the citizens of the country need to be protected. If this is indeed the case, then why on earth isn't the Fed. gov't actually PROTECTING?

Thanks for posting! :)

May I just add that Ron Paul has consistanly and insistantly---as late as this Fall and opinion polls be damned---introduced the Sacticty of Life Ammendment into Congress, ensuring protection from conception on. John McCain, who claims pro-life bona fides, failed to back the bill in the Senate, which he has also persistanlty done.

People are concerned that Dr. Paul will not define marriage. He argues that the government has not place in the marriage business at all and for most of history accepted its place in this. While I am not sure this will work well in practice, it IS consistant with his stick-to-the-Constituion message and he DOES NOT support Gay Marriage. The President can only propose legislation, it is up to Congress to make laws.

I think we are on the precipice of tyranny in this country. We need to ratchet back the size and scope of government and gain back our independence forthwith. And we the people need to stop looking at the govt as if it were our parents. Ron Paul will support and champion both those courses of action. Even if he does not win, he is bringing to the forefront issues NONE of these candidates would discuss otherwise.
